Le Tour de Musee
After the huge success of the BYOV event at the Museum of Science here in Boston, I have been giving much thought to a BYOV tour involving more museums. Museums seem to create a great combination of open public spaces with interesting and engaged people; something that suits a BYOV event perfectly. Of course, not all museums would be appropriate, but I think that if I were to get five or six in the northeast interested, I could gather some amazing voices as well as some great recognition potentially. Eventually, I'd like to do a performance tour of museums, but I'm not quite ready for that yet.
Right now, I'm thinking of these for starters:
Museum of Fine Arts - Boston
New Museum - New York
Peabody Essex Museum - Salem, MA
ICA - Boston
Portland Museum of Art - Portland, ME
Mass MoCA - North Adams, MA
Anyone have any other ideas? How about connections at these or other places?!
I'll keep you posted.

1st Anniversary!
Today is the day I held my first public Bring Your Own Voice event. It has been a long and eventful year, but don't worry, I won't recount it all for you here. I'll just note this fact, give you a few key stats, and hope that the second year of BYOV is fruitful and fun as well.
Thank you everyone who has participated in any form. Your support is invaluable.

le tour de BYOV
I am in the process of applying for a grant to fund a BYOV tour. I am really excited to try to make this happen as it would be a great way to get more interesting fodder for my music as well as spread the word about what I do. Oh yeah, and it would be fun to drive around the country setting up the booth in random places and getting people from all over the place to contribute their voices.
Let's hope for funding as cash always helps make things happen.

no recent updates...
other than the bunch of events coming up in the fall. I'm hoping to get something scheduled in Philly as well, but the distance and lack of knowledge of that scene is proving to make things a bit more challenging. Anyone have any suggestions?

momentary break
Well, this is the first weekend in quite some time that I haven't been toting the BYOV booth around to some new and exciting location to collect more voices. Though it has been incredibly fun, I will admit that staying at home this weekend is feeling good to me right now. I have much updating of various websites to do, and I hope to soon finish up a new song that uses voices from my first BYOV event at the Bernard Toale Gallery back in January.

words and voices
The new album has arrived! After months of finalizing both the music and the artwork, I am extremely pleased to announce the release of the first album from aesthetic evidence. This album contains music created from and around spoken voices of many of my friends and family members. Bring Your Own Voice is helping to facilitate the collection of more of these recordings to be used in future songs.
Please go to the aesthetic evidence web-site to download mp3s and order your very own copy of:
Enjoy!

reasons why
So the update for today is, unfortunately, not much. But the reasons for this are good ones. The main reason is that I am ferociously working on my aevidence album called 'words and voices'. I am happy to report that the mastering was completed last weekend and the PMCD will be sent to the manufacturer this week. I am making progress on the cd packaging design which will, in a stroke of happenstance and luck, include some visuals that everyone who attended the Bernie Toale BYOV event will be familiar with.
So all is good here and progress is being made. However, this focus hasn't given me the time to spend diving into all of the no doubt fantastic voice recordings I made on January 8th. To those of you who participated: do not fear! I am very excited to begin writing with these results and will be doing so after the release of the album. Please feel free to contact me in the meantime with questions about this or anything else.
